Yea,ain't that the truth...Sounds like a wise decision you made about selling it new out of the box. Hmmmm, gives me an idea. Thanks.

Re: your post about giving away your crossbow, why not contact the manufacturer about the limb failure? They probably have a warranty to deal with that because it's pretty common on a lot of crossbows. Send it back, get it fixed and then sell it as is for a reduced price. That way you can defray some of the cost of your new compound. It's worth a try, yes?
I have had shoulder problems for over 15 years and recently started back hunting with a crossbow. I hate the awkward bulkiness and the weight but it gets me out there for the early season.
Your probably right...I just kinda figured that since it was as old as it is,that the warranty would be out dated....It's just one of the cheap ones...The horton xl i think...I just haven't been happy with it since I first hunted with it...Have you tried any of the new compound bows that they have come out with?...I think mine has like 70- 75% let off, which makes it a breeze to pull back and as far as being able to hold it back,I feel like I could hold it all day long. And thats with a bum shoulder...Who knows, maybe I'll look into that warranty deal since you mentioned it. Thanks.
I reduced the pull on my Jennings single cam to 45 lbs. and I can pull it back OK but its trajectory is like a rainbow now. It's an 80% let-off bow so holding it back isn't the problem, it's the initial pull that whacks my shoulder.
The crossbow is nice to shoot due to it already being cocked but everything else about it sucks.
I had a Browning bow years ago that broke so many times that they sent me a new model FREE. I didn't take it out of the box when I got it. I sold it "new, as is" for $100. I knew it would be just as bad as the previous one.
