BOOKS
A Look at Life from a Deer Stand. by Steve Chapman
Widowed with one child. Just really got interested in Hunting in 2006 at the ripe old age of 44. Realized that I was missing out on Nature since moving to Indiana from Calif. 17 years ago. Needed a new outlet and Dad sent me a bow he bought 8yrs before and never used. So had to find a way to use it. Went Slug gun hunting 3 days in '08 no deer, none in '09 and then all out this year '09. 11 days in the field Bow & Gun in Sun,Rain,Snow. Didn't get anything but I'm hooked. Wouldn't be anywhere else during either Turkey or Deer Season.
2010 was my year. Got my first Deer. A 6pt buck about 140lbs. It was the best feeling ever.
Things I Like
My daughter age 12, went with me this last late bow season on the week between Xmas and New Years. I didn't harvest anything. I first saw a doe then she spotted the Nice 8 pt. Buck following her but to far for a shot. Snow on the ground and sitting in a blind together. It doesn't get any better than the time spent together. I'm still learning but if she wants to come along with me. I don't think I would ever say no.
I only wish I had started hunting earlier in life. Starting at 45yrs. means time is too precious to wait so we will learn together when she is willing.
Things I Don't Care For
People that don't use turn signals.
Brussel Sprouts
Rap music
stopped by to see how you are , hadn't been by in a while
Wow, I just realized how long it had been since I logged in and checked mail. Life has got me good last year. really busy and now just trying to catch up. no luck in Deer season. only made it out 4 times. hopefully Turkey season will be better. Hope all is good with you.
not to bad here just very busy , glad to see you made it back on here
No, we missed it. It ended just when we got to that building. My daughter rode the Mtn. bikes some and liked it. We were only there about 3 hours. so just picked up some info on Indiana stuff and KY. Don't have much Vacation time left so just looking for short drive weekend type things to do this summer.
