No meat in the freezer, but a lasting memory

Sunday, October 25th I was really itching to get out into the woods after not getting out much and losing a doe last Sunday. Friday and Saturday were consumed with getting ready for our Chili Benefit which was a lot of fun. 2009 Hunting Season

Latest Update: October 1, 2009 Today was a beautiful morning. The kind that makes to say "wow!". It was mid 30's with light frost on the beans, clear with no wind. It doesn't get any better than that! I knew the deer would be moving.

Latest Update: September 20, 2009 Went hunting with Deerslayer and Wannabe. I saw plenty of squirrels, two deer that I couldn't make out what they were, and a 4 pointer that I got some video of. Wannabe saw a small basket rack and what he called a "monster" which was about 60 yds away and had 8 - 10 points. Bowhunting

I started Bowhunting in 1999 as a way to extend my deer hunting season and spend more time in the woods..
What I found was that I saw more deer than I did during the general season and that there were too many hunters in the woods shooting at who knows what. I felt unsafe so I stopped hunting the gun season on public lands for the most part.
Now bow-hunting is so much more to me then just a way to extend my time in the woods. It's a challenge to get close to the game animals and...
