Why does being nice always backfire.
Posted On 09/20/2010 10:18:57 by deerhunter3ways
I thought I would be nice and let my nieces hubby come out and hunt. He has never got to deer hunt before. I let him borrow a bow and after having him practice for a while I showed him the treestand. I loaned him arrows and broadheads. I told him the broadheads was $15.00 each and told him not to shoot them unless he was on a deer. He had one aluminum arrow. I told him to use it if he seen any coyotes. ( Coyotes are thick here). He stuck one of my broadheads in a log and couldn't retrieve it shooting at a coyote.Later last night I went to the bathroom where he showered to get ready to hunt. The towel holder was torn loose from the wall. Not sure why trying to be nice always backfires on me.

I know it may not seem like it now, but you did the right thing. Sometimes when we help other people it really doesn't seem to be worth it, but it really is. He may go home or to work...or wherever and tell his friends about the "awesome" shot he had at a coyote. Or how great it was sitting in that tree stand and seeing all the cool things that he wouldn't have been able to see if it weren't for you.

I know broadheads aren't cheap, but the memories he is taking with him from his hunt are priceless.
Yea I still remember my first hunt. I was overeager to. LOL
