Opening Morning
Posted On 10/01/2009 14:24:02 by CedarCreek

Well folks, today is opening day for archery season here in Indiana.  John and I went hunting this morning and although we didn't harvest any deer, I still feel that it was a success.

Just after shooting light, there were some does moving through the field.  Shortly after that a nice doe was coming my way and I thought I was going to make a connection, but a frisky young 7 point buck came trotting over trying to introduce himself to the doe.  She of course, was in no mood for his antics, and ran to the woods just south of me.

The buck came walking down the treeline toward me and got within 10 yards before he decided something wasn't quite right and away he went.  I spotted him a few more times on the south treeline and then a few more does came out.  All in all there was some pretty good action this morning.

Hopefully I'll find time to upload the video either later tonight or tomorrow.  But, right now I'm getting ready to head out into the woods again for the evening hunt.

Good Luck to you all!
