Take one of your old wool hunting socks and slide your therm into it. Keeps coffee hot alot longer.

I'm going to try the sock trick, I have always put hot boilin water in my themos and shut it tight for about 20 mintues, dumped it out and put the coffee in.  On real cold days it kept the coffe hot for a couple of hours.

I don't drink coffee but when I duck hunt on really cold days I bring a thermos of hot chocolate. It is warm for the first cup but opening up the thermos really cools down the rest pretty quick.

I'll try the sock next winter IF we get some cold weather.

There is a huge difference in quality of coffee cups and thermoses too. My coffee cup is a Thermos E5 which is a 16 oz leak proof cup. The coffee will stay hot all day, although it doesn't last that long.
