What type of broadhead do you use and what was your the main reason you picked that type?

I use mechanical Gators. Three reasons I bought them and use them.  1 They fly like my field points. 2 They are designed to fold back if they encounter bone and reopen when past it. 3 They have a awesome 2inch cut when fully open. Never have I not harvested a deer that I have shot with these!!!

My choice of broadhead really depends on the game I am hunting.  I have the Rage broadheads for deer and other big game; however, I have different fixed blades for the smaller game (turkeys, predators, etc.).  Cutting size also depends on the size of the animal I am hunting, as well as the amount of hide damage if I intend to keep it.

I've been using Thunderhead 100's for "whenever!!!"  1st broadhead I used (late '80's)& haven't switched.  I have been playing with thier expandables, mainly for turkey.

The Thunderheads fly off good with my Beman ICS.

Zewekys 135 grain for recurve
Rage for compound, makes a bigger hole, lots of blood for tracking and does some damage inside so they really don't go that far...

Rocky Mountain Premier fixed, harvested every deer I shot with them. I tried Nap

blood runner three blade, If anyone is thinking of trying them DON'T, the first deer I shot

I never found and I searched for 2 day's , the second deer I shot I was lucky enough to

get a scond shot. Very poor penetration. On the first deer only the broadhead

penetrated, saw the whole shaft of the arrow flopping around as the deer ran away.

And on both deer the shots were good.

I have shot thunderhead 100's forever. I have shot thru the backbone on a deer at 25 yds when it jumped my string. It went so slow i was sure i miss until the deer could get up. I still use that broadhead just installed new blades and it has taken a few more deer over the years! These broadheads fly just like my field tips from every bow I have had. If it ain't broken why change!

I have had very good results with Hoyt Topcut broadheads. Trouble is they were discontinued years ago. When I saw that they were discontinuing them, I bought all I could find plus plenty of extra blades.

They are "cut on contact" non-mechanical blades that are tough (.045"). I have gut shot deer with them and the deer didn't go far before laying down and dying within one minute or so.

If anyone has some in their old stash, I'll buy them.
