I know it is quite early yet but I wanted to get this topic up so that it was seen before season.

Post your findings and locations here (pictures would be great too). By location I mean general area in your state so that others may follow the reports to help them find shrooms this year.

Eat Em' !!! I have never had more than I could eat before. They do bring good money but I just cant bring myself to sell them.

I did way too much turkey hunting last year to find mushrooms, I hunted GA, then back to Indiana , busted my bird and back to GA i went! ....I had to buy a pound lol...I hated to but I have never went one year withoutem! Think I paid 35$ Which later season got a friend went to same guy and paid 50$ kinda crazy but i lovem!!!!

As for recipes we have always soaked overnight in a little bit of salt water and fried in a little butter....this is awesome stuffed in quail breast

Hey guys. I wanted to add another tip for morels--homemade pizza!! If you like mushrooms on your pizza, add these little buggers to them. They add a flavor that "regular" mushrooms just can't top. I enjoy morels on my pizza, lightly fried in a cornmeal or beer mixture and just eaten by itself, stuffed inside wild game meat or inside a fish cavity, and the list goes on and on. Try it!

Once you just try morels there is no turning back. The hunt for them is just as addicting as the pursuit of a big buck to many. Myself included!!
