While turkey hunting the last day of season in 2009......I had a bird down before 8 a.m. and as it was such a nice day decided to do a little morel hunting. Funny thing was....I found the largest patch of 8" yellows I had ever seen. They were out in the open of a thin woodlot next to a creek. Not a single one was more than a day old and all 29 nearly covered my truck tailgate....this is the latest I have ever found such a catch and hope this year will return the favor!!!!!!
