HOW DOES ONE GO ABOUT  GETTING A DEER FARM MAYBE A COUPLE OF DOE TO START

You will need to apply for a permit from the DNR to get started. You will need to draw up plans for your fencing, DNR and DEQ will come and inspect your property. If all is ok you will get a permit to build fence. Fence will need to be 10 ft high. Once the fence is built, the DNR will come and inspect it, They will also check for any wild deer in the fence, and they will need to be removed. If you use wooded property they will only check with snow on the ground to make sure there is noo deer in fence. Once this is all done, you will be issued and permit to put deer in the fence. The fence inspection is 250.00 per trip, the permit fee is 750.00 for 3 years. You can go the DNR web site and get info on all the regulations for deer farming. You can by does from any deer farmer in MIch, not out of state. Word to the wise, make sure the farm you buy from is 5 yr CWD and TB accredited, because if not your will have 5 years to sell anything, in state or out of state. Also If you are interested in doing this, to and visit as many farms as possible. There are good people and bad people in the business. Good Luck, if you want to talk let me know and I will call you.
