amazing rock
Posted On 05/28/2011 23:58:44

I can'tbelieve this was done by a teenager!

There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed.

It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos. all angles of the rock.

I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

Here's the artist:

Ray 'Bubba' Sorensen.

AWESOME Work, RAY ...

Thank you!

Pass it on.

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

NOW WASN'T THAT SOMETHING TO SEE.

monster bow
Posted On 01/30/2011 18:59:40
as some of you know last year i decided to buy a new bow. after 15 years of shouting a pse i had a hard time of choosing. but i bought a mathews monster xlr8. well i have had some problems with the bow derailing the string. after a cam change it still did it. so i managed to make it threw the season and sent it to mathews. they have had an upgrade for monsters with this similar problem. they changed out both the axles with ones that have e-clips on them for more stability. i also got new limbs installed. my bow had "dry-fired three times, so this was done as a precaution. i have to say that the tech that i talked to via e-mail at mathews was to say the least "awsome". he was very professional and really cared about my satisfaction and getting the problem fixed in a timely matter. they covered all the shipping and insurance cost for the repairs. everything was under warranty. so i have to give Mathews tech and support a huge thumbs up!!! great job. its hard to find customer severice that actualy takes care of the customers needs these days. i have shot my bow today with a little more confidence. still need to fine tune everything back in now. thanks to Dave from Mathews!

new year
Posted On 01/02/2011 20:34:38
with the new year upon us i reflect back to the last year and think of all that had been. it was still a very difficult year for this great country of ours but as the american spirit prevails we all made it through. the new found friendships i've made not only here with the deerspace family but at work, church and threw friends. i think of what i could have done better over the last year and what i should be trying to do better at this year. i pray that everyone has a great up and coming new year and that we all can try to help each other out a little more. god bless and have a great year!

to all of you who have served this country, thanks for everything and have a great veterans day this thursday! if you see a vet thank them for their service. if it wasnt for all of us that have served we might not have the freedoms to be outdoorsmen and women and pass it on to our children. thanks again! pow/mia.

bow huntin blues
Posted On 11/01/2010 00:36:12
well this years start to bow season has had some ups n downs. like last year the weather in indiana was exceptional warm the first three weeks. so needless to say the deer were not very active for me until right at dark. then the crops all came down earlier than expected too. in northeastern indiana you can count on corn beuing up sometimes threw gun season. thats not the case this year. so now my dilema. this year i decided to buy a new bow. i bought my first mathews monster and this is where it starts. after having the bow a month the sting came off on my backdraw. took it back and was told it had the wrong cams on it(to shallow). so got those replaced, shot it most of the summer until in sept. it did it again. re-strung it, shot it and last week i drew back on a doe and pow, again it came unstrung. my buddy came over and drew it back and the string came off but the bow locked at a full draw. never seen that before. so i e-mailed mathews and took it to where i got it from. re-strung yet again, shot it and so far so good. tried to talk to them about why and he didnt seem interested. said it was not his problem. so went to another "dealer" and he didnt even want to look at it. not his problem. finally took it to a dealer that cedarcreek and matt_team deerspace recommened and he looked it over. found a couple of little things he didnt like about it. shimmed it up for me and sent me on my way. i appreciate this dealer very much for taking the time to help me with this issue. my biggest disappointment was that two of the three dealers lack of anything to help out. i thought that this was there job as a dealer to help with customer support. i guess not, they probably like obama too. but i will hunt with it for the rest of the season and send it to mathews for a look over. frustration isnt even close to what i feel. but at least the wind has died down and the warm weather is going away and pre-rut is starting. so if i can just get the time to hunt right now this will be a better season.

new call
Posted On 10/15/2010 03:26:05
i bought a flextone all in one call last week. the local wally world had them for $15 so i thought what the hey i'll try it. its the buck collector series that the bone collector promotes. i believe its made in the US, but not sure. the whole thing is made out of rubber and it has a great sound on the buck grunt. but the doe and fawn sounds are so so. i like the wheeze option it has but im conserned about it freezing up in cold weather. i know what soft rubber does in indiana winter, nothing but get hard and brittle. so does anyone else had/have one of these calls and how does it react to wet or cold weather?? im betting it wont work as well in the cold, so ill keep my doe bleet in a can that i can trust. thanks, chris

turkey hunting changes
Posted On 09/30/2010 13:35:49
i was so excited to learn from carnage and cedarcreek that our fall turkey season in indiana has changed a bit. now we can take one of either sex with a bow or a gun. but one only ! the length of the season has changed also. we still dont know about all the "proposed deer regulations". i think the jury's out on that one??? but still im excited and hopefully i can nab a fall bird with my bow.
